PRONIA paper published in Schizophrenia Bulletin
The entire PRONIA consortium is happy to announce a major publication in Schizophrenia Bulletin called "The psychopathology and neuroanatomical markers of depression in early psychosis" project paper . In this paper, we use the data from 7 European countries to show that that depression at a symptom level is broadly similar with or without psychosis status in recent-onset disorders; however, this is not driven by a separable depressed subgroup in FEP. This means that depression may be intrinsic to early stages of psychotic disorder, and thus treating depression could produce widespread benefit. The study was funded by the European Commission and could have major implications for the treatment of psychosis.
